David C. Irmer

President, Founder & Owner

David Irmer is President and founder of The Innisfree Companies, a diversified real estate development firm with offices in Sausalito, California.

As President of The Innisfree Companies, David has used his extensive experience in real estate development, and unique talents in working with communities, to reimagine and revitalize urban and suburban commercial and residential properties. Under David’s direction, the company has flourished. With over 50 years in business, The Innisfree Companies and David Irmer have enjoyed consistent growth, diversity, and profitability. David and his team are responsible for the acquisition, entitlement, financing, design, and construction management of all their projects.

David attended Menlo College and holds a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration from the University of Miami, Florida. He is a member of the Urban Land Institute, the International Council of Shopping Centers, and the California Redevelopment Association. He is actively involved in various Chambers of Commerce in cities in which the company has established development activity. He is on the Board of Trustees for Menlo College and the Boston Private Bank & Trust Company Advisory Board. He has served on the Vestry at St. Stephen’s Church in Belvedere, California and is a member of The Olympic Club, The St. Francis Yacht Club, and the San Francisco Yacht Club. David is married, has four grown children, seven grandchildren, and resides in Tiburon, California.

Michael Stoner

Principal, Innisfree Ventures

Michael Stoner is a driving force, taking projects from concept to completion. Michael has navigated the course for projects ranging in scope, scale and complexity for over 25 years. Most recently: The Village, San Leandro, CA ($10 Million), On Broadway, Redwood City, CA ($91 Million), Napa Junction Phases I, II, III, American Canyon, CA ($206 Million).

For each unique project, Michael pulls together a carefully selected team of design and construction professionals, and then helps to clear the path from entitlements through to final approvals. Over the years, Michael has completed a wide variety of projects, including master planned communities, mixed use projects, multifamily complexes, retail centers, hospitality, design build projects, educational facilities and office campuses.

One of the biggest challenge developers in California face today is handling the inevitably unpredictable, convoluted and ever changing process of acquiring entitlements. Michael has extensive experience dealing with CEQA, environmental agencies, political entities, municipalities and governments and regulatory agencies.

Michael is a LEED Accredited Professional. In the earlier part of his career, he worked as a Project Executive for L.E. Wentz Company, a general contractor, who consistently ranked in the top 100 of Engineering News Record Magazine’s top 400 general building contractors. See additional work by Michael Stoner.

Michael holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in StructuralEngineering from the University of Washington in Seattle and a Master of Business Administration with concentration in Finance from Golden Gate University in San Francisco.

Michael is married, with three children and resides in Menlo Park, California.

Martha Cardon Irmer

Vice President

Martha Cardon Irmer, Vice President, has been in the real estate development business since 1971. In addition to Innisfree, Martha worked in development at LTT Properties, Pacific Union Company, and Heritage Properties. Martha’s projects have ranged from recreational properties to condominiums, condominium conversions, and commercial management. She has also had a wide range of responsibilities in development and marketing.

In addition to her accomplishments as a commercial and residential property developer, Martha is a gifted photographer and avid horsewoman. She has served on the Vestry at St. Stephen’s Church in Belvedere, California and has been active in the California Dressage Society. She graduated from Cornell University with a major in Government and spent five years as a legislative assistant for two members of the United States House of Representatives. She is married, with a large extended family, and resides in Tiburon, California.
